The Great war in the Dolomites: hiking in the most wild areas of the front

The Lagorai mountains is a chain of great peaks of Porphir stone (vulcanic stone) into the Dolomites territory. During the Great War (1914/18) was a natural line of the front from peak to peak in a medium hight of 2500-2700 m.

Today are not intensive touristic areas, and for this reason the trenches and bunkers are better conservate and more authentic in comparison of the big and famous Dolomites areas.

FIRST STEP

The easy access at the Dolomites is the focal point of my town: Bolzano "the door of the Dolomites". Lear the best combination for your arrival and departure flight and the transfers by train or rental car, but... more important: ask me every logistical info you need. I'm here to help you to find the best solution.

The day before (your arrive)

Depending where you arrive, generally you will land in the airport of Venice or Milan or Bergamo or Innsbruck or Munich or..... it's indifferent! I will suggest you the best logistical system to arrive in Bolzano. train, bus, or taxi.
When you will arrive in Bolzano we have a preparative briefing at the reception of your hotel on the evening. In this half hour meeting we will check all aspect of the next days tour.

Your customized program in short description and facts

Along the crest of the chain of the mountains run a long path, the original military path, where is possible organise customized trekking from hut to hut.
The tipology of these treks is “for expert hikers”, but with the help of the rope of the mountain guide is possible go every where to discover the most forgoten trenches and bunkers of the first line of the front.
In these exposed places we can live the atmosphere of this terrible “high quote” conflict.

The organization of the trekking is totally flexible and customized. From 1 to 6 days we can explore these fantastic and not touristic mountains, and last…… is probable that we will find one or more “original souvenir”…..

Write me your basic data:
– how many days you will prefer.
– your hiking experience and fit level.
– eventually your explorative preferences (for example: paths steep and exposed or easy and not exposed).

With these information I can prepare a personal program for every client.
